When I was a kid I knew that I wanted to be an artist. I loved the feeling of sharing my work with other people. Back then it was because the “how pretty!” made me feel good inside. I continued to draw, mostly on lined paper during science class and before I knew it I was in an art college. There I learned how to use the computer as a graphics tool, I couldn’t get enough. I went from Illustrator to Photoshop… I was addicted. Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver, Lightwave…
I met the letter “r” when I got out of college. I got a good paying job that slowly took my creativity away. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the job, it was steady, worked with good people. I got laid off. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I don’t think I want to stray from my passions ever again. I now get paid to be the artist I am, and it’s addicting.
Your passions are what make you. Work at them, you won’t regret it.
